Event programme

Join the Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters and the Pentrich & South Wingfield Revolution Group for a gathering at South Wingfield Railway Station, followed by a visit to the parish church.

1. 11.30am

   Gather at South Wingfield Railway Station. Lord-Lieutenant Mrs Elizabeth Fothergill CBE and the High Sheriff of Derbyshire Dr Syed Iftikharar will arrive. BBC East Midlands Today will film our gathering (we hope).

2. 12.00pm

   A short talk will be given by a member of the South Wingfield & Pentrich Revolutionary Society, with particular reference to the plight of the many hand frame knitters involved.

3. 12.30pm

   The Master Knitter will ask us to gather outside and prayers will be said by the Chaplain.

4. 12.40pm

   Hopefully, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire, the High Sheriff of Derbyshire and the Chief Constable will instruct us to disperse!

5. 12.50pm

   The Master and Chaplain accompany the Lord-Lieutenant and High Sheriff to the parish church.

6. 1.00pm

   The Pentrich quilt is viewed.

7. 1.10pm

   The Chaplain will say a short prayer and the Master will invite the Lord-Lieutenant to lay the wreath in the church adjacent to the quilt.

8. 1.25pm

   The Master accompanies the Lord-Lieutenant to her car.
